About theADmarket

What is theADmarket?

theADmarket is a growth strategy consultancy based in Melbourne, Australia. We design the strategy, run the advertising and build the systems that turn attention into revenue, so growth stops depending on the founder's hustle and becomes predictable and scalable.

Are you an agency?

Not quite. We're a growth strategy consultancy rather than a traditional agency. An agency usually runs one channel for you. We work out where the opportunity is, build the systems that capture and convert the demand, then run the advertising and automate the follow-up, all under one accountable partner.

What does a client actually buy from you?

A done-for-you growth engine. We find the customers, build the systems that capture and convert them, and run the automation that keeps it going.

What is your approach or philosophy?

Understand your audience. Build the systems. Grow with intent. In short: Understand, Build, Grow. We don't pitch packages; we pitch strategy first, then build what's right for your stage.

Where are you based?

We're based in Melbourne, Victoria, and we work on Australian Eastern time. We have clients across Australia, the United Kingdom and internationally.

Do you work with businesses outside Australia?

Yes. We have global capability with a Melbourne weighting. Our core focus is Melbourne, wider Australia and the United Kingdom, and we're open to work in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Europe and the United States through existing contacts.

Who runs theADmarket?

Chris Joy is the founder. You can reach him at chris@theadmarket.com or on 0406 397 715.

What are the three layers of your model?

Understand is the strategy layer: behaviour-led audience research, competitor mapping, market-gap analysis and a costed growth plan. Build is the systems layer, delivered by our build arm CTC Workflows: conversion websites, CRM, nurture and tracking. Grow is the execution layer: advertising, outreach and continuous optimisation, with our AI concierge Tends2 answering enquiries around the clock. Behind them sits the Content Engine, feeding every layer. Together they form one engine.

What is CTC Workflows?

CTC Workflows is our build arm. It builds the systems that let a business run more efficiently and set up for growth: websites and apps, CRM and nurture sequences, marketing automations, conversion tracking and attribution, and voice AI builds. It also wins its own clients directly.

What is Tends2?

Tends2 is our AI concierge software for small businesses. You load your FAQs, add a website widget and, depending on the tier, connect SMS, voice, WhatsApp and Telegram. One brain holds the answers to what customers ask, so the business spends less time on the phone and more time growing.

Do I have to buy all three brands together?

No. theADmarket, CTC Workflows and Tends2 each stand on their own. Plenty of clients start with just the advertising, just the build or just Tends2. When theADmarket leads the engagement, the three click together into a single accountable engine.

How do the three parts fit together?

We start by understanding where the opportunity is: the research, the audience and a costed plan. If something needs building, CTC Workflows takes the build: the site, CRM, automations and tracking. Then we grow with intent: theADmarket runs the advertising and optimisation, and Tends2 answers enquiries around the clock. Strategy first, systems next, growth last.

Do you have case studies or proof of results?

Our featured case study is Wine Animal, a wine label we've partnered with for three years: audience research, a Shopify build, a content engine and paid acquisition, compounding into more than $500k in generated revenue, 30,000 plus Instagram followers and over 40 video assets. You can read the full case study at theadmarket.com.

What do your clients say about you?

Brenden, the founder of Wine Animal, puts it this way: theADmarket don't pitch you a package. They listen, ask the questions your team is too busy to ask, then come back with a plan that actually moves the business.

Where does the name theADmarket come from?

It started in 2020, when our founder Chris was stood down from his corporate media job during COVID and decided to build something of his own. The original concept was an advertising marketplace, a place connecting businesses that need advertising with experts in the advertising space, hence theADmarket. The name stayed, and in 2024 the idea became the growth consultancy it is today.

When was theADmarket founded?

The consultancy was founded in 2024, though the idea dates back to 2020. Behind it sits more than 30 years of experience across media, content and sales, and over two years of intensive AI and automation work.

What experience is behind theADmarket?

More than 30 years across media, content and sales, and over two years of intensive, on the job AI and automation work. We take corporate learnings and implement them for SMEs, providing sophisticated solutions that drive growth.

Who we work with

What kind of businesses do you work with?

Service-based, founder or principal-led, enquiry-and-booking-driven businesses that have been trading two or more years, are profitable and can fund a retainer. Typically $1M a year in revenue and up.

What industries do you work in?

Trades and local services, professional services, health and aesthetics clinics, coaching and consulting, construction and property, franchise and multi-location groups, plus established mid-market businesses in fashion, hospitality, entertainment and premium professional services.

Do you work with startups or pre-revenue businesses?

Generally no. We look for two or more years of trading with proven demand, though we'll make an exception for a funded business or a founder with proven traction. Marketing amplifies existing demand, it doesn't create a market from scratch.

Do you work with e-commerce or product businesses?

Partly. Our full engine is built for service businesses, so for product and e-commerce we typically offer advertising and content production rather than the whole engine. Tell us what you're selling and we'll be straight with you about fit.

Do you work with franchises or multi-location businesses?

Yes, that's one of our strongest fits. We build a master strategy with the franchisor, then roll out a standardised kit of site, tracking, ads and concierge to each location, so a new site gets its marketing working quickly and quality stays consistent. These engagements are custom quoted.

I want the business to run without me, or I'm preparing to sell. Can you help?

Yes, that's exactly what the Growth flagship is for. We systemise the demand, the capture and the follow-up so growth doesn't depend on you being the bottleneck, which is also what makes a business more saleable.

Is my business too small for you?

As a guide, we look for at least $1M a year in revenue, an ability to fund roughly $4,500 to $6,000 a month all in across fees and ad spend, and a willingness to commit for three months. If you're not there yet, the Growth Blueprint is often the smarter starting point.

We already have a marketing team. Is that a problem?

Not at all. A lot of our best work is with businesses whose marketing function is stretched or where nothing is joined up and no one owns the number. We can lead the strategy and hold accountability for growth across your team and your other suppliers.

Services

What services do you offer?

Growth strategy and audience research, Google Ads and Meta ads management, wider digital and traditional media planning where the research points there, cold outreach and pipeline building, conversion tracking, attribution and reporting, content strategy with in-house editing and repurposing, website and app builds, CRM and marketing automation, and AI voice and chat concierge through Tends2.

What is the Growth Blueprint?

The Growth Blueprint is our entry point: a marketing audit, behaviour-led audience research, competitor mapping and market-gap analysis, a channel plan and a costed 90 day roadmap. Every plan ends with a number someone owns. It's a one-off at $3,950 excluding GST, and it converts into a retainer if you want us to run it.

What's included in the Starter package?

Starter covers one primary channel, either Google or Meta, plus strategy, ad management with our automated review layer and a monthly report. It's designed to get you your first predictable lead flow from one channel. It's $2,500 a month excluding GST, plus ad spend.

What's included in the Core package?

Core covers multi-channel ads, outreach and pipeline, conversion tracking and attribution, content strategy and monthly reporting. The outcome is a working demand engine across channels. It's $4,500 a month excluding GST, plus ad spend.

What's included in the Growth package?

Growth is our flagship. It includes everything in Core, plus CTC build work bundled in, Tends2 included, and coordination of partners for content, SEO and PR. It's a fully done-for-you growth engine so the business is no longer founder dependent. It's $9,500 a month excluding GST, plus ad spend.

Which package is right for me?

If you want a plan before you commit, start with the Growth Blueprint. If you want one channel working properly, Starter. If you want a demand engine across channels, Core. If you want the whole thing handed over, Growth. Chris can confirm the right fit on a short discovery call.

Do you run Google Ads?

Yes. Google Ads management is core to what we do, and every retainer includes automated every-other-day account reviews plus a human decision layer, so nothing runs on autopilot without someone owning the number.

Do you run Facebook and Instagram ads?

Yes, we run Meta ads across Facebook and Instagram. Starter covers one primary channel, either Google or Meta, and Core and Growth run multiple channels together.

Do you do cold outreach or lead generation?

Yes. Cold outreach, prospect research and pipeline building are included in our Core and Growth retainers. We also run standalone outreach campaigns as a fixed-term sprint: prospect research, verified personalised templates, automated follow-up sequencing, a CRM pipeline and a weekly written report. That one is quoted to scope.

Do you do content strategy?

Yes, content strategy is included in Core and Growth. To be clear on the line: the strategy is ours, and the shoot itself goes to a specialist production partner. We brief and direct them.

Do you do video editing?

Yes. Video editing and repurposing is an in-house monthly add-on. You supply the raw footage, from your own camera or a production partner's shoot, and we turn it into short-form clips, FAQ shorts, Q and A cuts, podcast clips and platform-ready formats. One filming day typically becomes 30 or more usable assets a month. Pricing is on application.

Do you do email marketing?

Yes, as a monthly add-on. We plan, build, send and report on weekly or fortnightly campaigns and manage the list, so the database actually gets worked rather than just collected. Pricing is on application.

Do you do reporting and attribution?

Yes. Conversion tracking and attribution are built into Core and Growth, with monthly strategy and reporting. If you want to go further and match real invoices back to the lead source, we offer a Revenue Attribution Build through CTC, quoted to scope.

Can you help us get more out of our Google reviews?

Yes. Our Review Amplification add-on pulls your Google reviews into your website on an auto-refreshing feed and repurposes them as social proof content, so an existing five star reputation actually converts visitors. Pricing is on application.

Do you only do digital advertising?

No. Google and Meta are where most Australian buyers are, so that's where most plans start, but we also plan and buy LinkedIn, TikTok, programmatic and other digital channels, and traditional media: television, radio, outdoor, print and cinema, when the research shows your audience is there. Channels are tools; audiences buy.

Pricing & payment

How much does it cost to work with you?

Retainers start at $2,500 a month for Starter, $4,500 a month for Core and $9,500 a month for the Growth flagship, all excluding GST and all plus ad spend. If you'd rather start with a plan, the Growth Blueprint is a $3,950 one-off. Builds are separate: a Conversion Site is $3,000 and Growth Systems is $5,000.

Are your prices GST inclusive?

All figures we quote exclude GST. For Australian clients, 10% GST is added at invoice. International clients are billed in their local currency at the exchange rate at the time of invoicing.

How are international clients billed?

International clients are invoiced in their local currency, converted at the exchange rate at the time of invoicing.

Is ad spend included in your fees?

No. Ad spend is never in the fee. It's your money, funded by you and paid direct to the platform, so you keep full visibility and control of it. Every retainer quote states the fee and the ad spend separately.

How much ad spend do I need?

Around $2,000 a month to start, and $3,000 a month or more is preferred. Below that, paid channels can't gather enough data to optimise properly.

Is there a fee for managing our ad spend?

Every retainer includes management of up to $1,000 a month of ad spend. Above that, we add 20% of the spend over $1,000, invoiced monthly. For example, $10,000 of monthly spend is your retainer plus $1,800.

What's the realistic all-in budget to get started?

Around $4,500 to $6,000 a month all in, covering both fees and ad spend. Below that the numbers don't have enough room to work.

Do you offer discounts?

No. Our list price is the price. If a number doesn't work for you, we change what you're buying rather than what it costs, so you can step down to a smaller package or start with the Growth Blueprint instead.

How long is a quote valid?

Quotes are valid for 30 days, and a price we've pitched to you is held for up to 3 months from when it was quoted, even if our pricing is revised in the meantime.

When are invoices due?

Invoices are due 7 days from issue.

How do payments work for a build?

Audits and builds are 50% upfront to book the work and 50% on completion.

Are retainers paid in advance?

Yes, all retainers are paid monthly in advance.

Is there a minimum term?

Three months on Starter and Core, then rolling with 30 days notice. Six months on the Growth flagship and on any build plus retainer engagement.

What if I'm not ready to commit to a retainer?

Start with the Growth Blueprint, a $3,950 one-off covering the audit, research and a 90 day roadmap. You get a costed plan and clear direction, and you can convert into a retainer later if you want us to run it.

Can you work on a commission or revenue share basis?

No. We don't work on a pay-from-the-results basis. It sounds attractive but it means neither side can fund the work properly, and results depend on decisions and budget we don't control.

I want something that isn't on your price list. Can you quote it?

Yes. Custom apps, bespoke Tends2 configurations, larger alliance-scale engagements and anything unusual are all quoted individually. Send the details to chris@theadmarket.com and Chris will scope it properly rather than give you a guess.

Getting started

What happens after I enquire?

We check the fit, then book a discovery call, usually within 5 business days of your enquiry. It's a 30 minute strategy call, and we'll run to 45 if the conversation needs it, covering your business, your numbers and what you're trying to achieve.

What happens on the discovery call?

It's a 30 minute strategy call, up to 45 when needed. No deck, no pitch. We get to understand the business, verify revenue, spend and commitment, and confirm whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so.

How quickly will I get a proposal?

Within 3 to 5 business days of the discovery call, or of the Growth Blueprint being delivered if you take that first.

How long does the Growth Blueprint take?

One to two weeks from booking. It's invoiced when you book it.

What does onboarding involve?

A kickoff, then collecting access to your ad accounts, analytics, CRM, Google Business Profile and domain, plus your brand assets. We run a tracking and attribution audit, set up billing and ad spend, and brief any partners in scope. It takes roughly the first two weeks.

How long until my ads go live?

Typically around week three or four, once tracking, landing pages and systems are ready. We also respect the seven day no-touch learning window on Meta so the platform can settle before we start optimising.

How long until I see leads?

From signing, expect first leads flowing in about 4 to 6 weeks. It's faster when there's no build involved and longer if we're building a custom app. Your first invoice lands at signing and your first leads land within roughly a month of onboarding starting, so you're not paying months of fees before anything is live.

How long do builds take?

A Conversion Site is two to four weeks, Growth Systems is two to four weeks, a Custom App is six to twelve weeks or more, and Tends2 setup is one to two weeks. Builds often run in parallel with onboarding.

What do you need from me?

Prompt access to your ad accounts, analytics, CRM, Google Business Profile and domain or site as needed, your brand assets, and approvals at each gate within 48 to 72 hours.

How quickly do I need to approve things?

Within 48 to 72 hours at each gate. We say it out loud early because late approvals move timelines and cost results, and they're the single most common cause of delay.

How often will I hear from you once we're running?

We run automated ad reviews every other day, with a human decision checkpoint every Monday, plus the content and email cadence in scope and a monthly strategy and reporting session. Some clients get weekly reporting.

How do you typically run an engagement?

Four stages designed to compound. Discover: we audit your audience, market and current stack. Strategy: a prioritised, costed growth plan. Build: systems, automations and the content engine. Grow: run the advertising and iterate on results monthly.

Websites & systems

Do you build websites?

Yes, through CTC Workflows. Our Conversion Site is a marketing site or landing system built to convert, with service and suburb landing pages, forms, Google review integration and tracking wired in. It's $3,000 excluding GST. The goal is a site that captures leads, not a brochure.

How much does a website cost?

A Conversion Site is $3,000 excluding GST. That covers a marketing site or landing system built to convert, with landing pages, forms, Google review integration and tracking wired in. More complex builds are quoted separately.

What are Growth Systems?

Growth Systems is our CRM and automation build: CRM setup, nurture sequences, marketing automations, call-tracking numbers and conversion and attribution tracking. Leads get captured, followed up and measured automatically. It's $5,000 excluding GST.

Can you build a custom app or portal?

Yes. CTC Workflows builds bespoke apps, products and portals, starting from $5,000 excluding GST. Because every build is different, the final number is scoped and quoted by Chris.

Do you offer hosting and maintenance?

Yes. Our Care Plan covers hosting, maintenance, updates and small change requests so your systems stay live and maintained. It starts from $600 a month excluding GST.

Do you do branding and web design?

We build to convert. Brand and visual identity design is supplied by you or by a specialist design studio partner, and we build to it. If you'd like design and build as a single line item, ask Chris and he'll put it together with a partner.

Do you set up CRMs and automations?

Yes. CRM setup, nurture sequences, marketing automations, call tracking and conversion tracking are all part of our Growth Systems build, and they're bundled into the Growth retainer.

Can you move our website, domain and email from another provider?

Yes. Our Technical Migration service covers domains, DNS, nameservers, email records including MX, DMARC and deliverability, SSL, and the full website and email handover from an outgoing provider or agency. You get a clean, verified handover with nothing dropped and email that keeps landing. It's a fixed fee, quoted on application.

Can you help with compliance in a regulated industry?

Yes. Our Compliance Layer covers licensing verification, consent and messaging rules, privacy policy, terms and data-deletion pages, and platform-compliance review. We do this most often for health, aesthetics, finance and liquor. It's quoted to scope.

Can you show which marketing actually produced revenue?

Yes, with a Revenue Attribution Build. It goes beyond standard conversion tracking: call-tracking numbers with routing, lead capture with click IDs, integration with your job or invoicing system, and automated matching of real invoices back to the lead source, with a reporting dashboard. It's quoted to scope.

Tends2

What does Tends2 do?

Tends2 is an AI concierge for small businesses, mainly service businesses that field a lot of enquiries. You load your FAQs, design a website widget and, depending on the tier, connect SMS, voice, WhatsApp and Telegram. It answers what customers ask professionally, consistently and on time, takes bookings, qualifies leads and integrates with your existing CRM.

How much does Tends2 cost?

Starter is $79 a month for the chat concierge: 2,000 webchat messages, unlimited Telegram and the web widget. Growth, the most popular tier, is $199 a month and adds SMS and voice AI. Professional is $549 a month for full multi-channel support including WhatsApp. Business, the highest capacity tier, is priced on application. All prices are in AUD and exclude GST, there are no setup fees, you can cancel anytime, and annual billing gets you one month free.

Is there a free trial for Tends2?

Yes, a 14 day free trial on the Starter tier. There are no setup fees, you can cancel anytime, and annual billing on any tier gets you one month free.

What channels does Tends2 cover?

A website chat widget, plus SMS, voice calls, WhatsApp and Telegram, depending on the tier. Starter covers web chat and Telegram, Growth adds SMS and voice AI, and Professional and Business add WhatsApp and higher volumes. One knowledge base sits behind every channel, so the answers are consistent everywhere.

What happens if Tends2 doesn't know the answer?

It doesn't make one up. It surfaces the question to you, you add the answer, and the knowledge base keeps learning until it covers everything customers actually ask.

Can Tends2 call leads back automatically?

That's our Outbound Voice AI Agent, sold under Tends2 Bespoke. It calls a new lead within a minute of their enquiry, answers questions, sends information, books the appointment and logs everything to your CRM. Tends2 answers inbound, this one chases outbound. It's quoted to scope.

Can Tends2 handle every channel we use?

Yes. The Professional and Business tiers cover web chat, SMS, voice and WhatsApp at increasing volumes, and any channel can be topped up with add-on bundles from your billing page. Beyond that, the Multi-Channel AI Concierge is a bespoke configuration across voice, SMS, WhatsApp and social messaging as one brain for your business, priced on application.

Do I need to be a theADmarket client to use Tends2?

No. Tends2 is software you can sign up for and use directly at tends2.com, with a 14 day free trial on the Starter tier. It's also included in our Growth retainer and can be bundled into other engagements.

What does the name Tends2 mean?

It's short for attends to everything. Tends2 equals attends to.

Can we offer Tends2 to our own clients?

Yes. Agencies, networks and partners can white-label Tends2 under their own brand, with multi-tenant management and custom integrations. Talk to us about reseller arrangements.

What we don't do

Do you guarantee leads, sales or rankings?

No, and we'd be cautious of anyone who does. We guarantee the system and the effort, not a number we don't control. What you get is a documented strategy, the work delivered properly, and transparent reporting on what's working.

Do you do SEO?

We don't deliver SEO in-house, but we coordinate it. On our Growth retainer we brief and manage specialist partners for content, SEO and PR so it all pulls in the same direction as your paid activity.

Do you do PR or media relations?

Not in-house. PR, media relations and publicity are handled by a specialist partner. We can brief and coordinate them as part of a Growth engagement.

Do you design logos or brand identities?

No. Brand identity and graphic design go to a specialist design studio partner. We build to whatever brand you have, and we can introduce you to a partner if you need one.

Do you do photography and video shoots?

The shoot itself goes to a specialist production partner, and we brief and direct it. The editing and repurposing we do in-house, so one filming day becomes a month of content.

Do you write long-form copy and editorial?

Long-form copywriting and editorial as an ongoing service goes to a partner. We brief and direct that work so it matches the strategy.

Do you handle print, signage or merchandise?

No. Print, signage, out-of-home and merchandise production go to a partner or supplier. We can point you to the right one.

Do you manage influencers, events or sponsorships?

No. Influencer and talent management, events and sponsorship activation are partner work. We can coordinate them alongside the rest of the plan.

Do you handle legal, accounting or contracts?

No, those go to partner professionals. What we do cover is marketing compliance: consent and messaging rules, privacy policy, terms, data-deletion pages and platform-compliance review for regulated industries.

Will you run ads that make strong claims to get results?

No. We won't touch anything misleading, non-compliant or in breach of platform or regulatory rules. In health, aesthetics and finance especially, we don't make unsubstantiated claims, ever. It protects your accounts and your licence.
